Launching of the Interim Inventory of Fauna 23rd June 2011at Mont Vert To mark the International Year of Biological Diversity and the International Year of Forests, the Honorable Satya Veyash Faugoo, Minister of Agro-Industry and Food Security had launched the booklet on Interim Inventory of Fauna on Thursday 23rd June 2011 in the presence of the Honorable Devanand Virahsawmy, Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development. This Booklet is the first Interim Inventory of Fauna carried out by the Foundation. Twenty one native species and sixteen invasive alien species were identified. Such more inventories are envisaged.

  Vallée D'Osterlog Endemic Garden Foundation Minister Arvin Boolell launches inventory of native species Dr. The Hon. Arvin Boolell launched the first inventory of endemic plants at the Vallee D'Osterlog Endemic Garden, near Le Val on Thursday 22 May 2008. He also unveiled a wooden sign post of the valley. According to Minister Boolell, it is important to attract the interest of scientists, researchers and institutions to collaborate with the Vallee D'Osterlog Endemic Garden Foundation for projects related to endemic flora and fauna. Vallée d’Osterlog Endemic Garden is a small jewel of biodiversity and is one of the last preserved nature sanctuaries of Mauritius. The Valley is a reference among eco-tourism sites and is located in the south-east of the island nestled in between Mountain Lagrave and Mountain Laselle of the Créoles Mountain Range.
